International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad
The International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT Hyderabad) is an Indian Information Technology Research University based in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. It is the first autonomous private institute of its kind to be established in 1997. IIITH is one of the top Computer Science institutes of the country.〔http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/telangana/iiith-students-get-15-crore-package/article6677071.ece〕 It emphasizes research from the undergraduate level. It has been a consistent performer from India in ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC); it has been sending teams to ICPC World Finals since last 7 consecutive years and finished at #18 in 2012.〔(Best Ever Performance by an Indian College at the World's Toughest Programming Contest ACM ICPC | IIIT Hyderabad ). Vint Cerf, popularly known as the father of the internet also a Turing Awardee joined the board of governors in February, 2015 to guide in IIIT Hyderabad's long term vision and research.
The institute runs Computer Science courses and research projects and is focused on research. It gives the students interaction with industry, preparation in entrepreneurship and personality development courses. IIIT Hyderabad is the mentor institute to Indian Institute of Information Technology, Sri City〔() IIIT Sri City〕

IIIT Hyderabad was set up in 1998. As Special Officer for International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Hyderabad, Mr Ajay Prakash Sawhney was responsible for shaping the conceptual model, setting up the Institute in 1998 and catalysing its emergence as a pre-eminent institute in IT Education & Research. The State Government lent support to the institute by grant of land and buildings. A Governing Council consisting of people from academia, industry and government presides over the governance of the institution. Rajeev Sangal, former Head of Department of Computer Science, IIT Kanpur, designed the syllabus. He was the director of the institute till 10 April 2013. P. J. Narayanan, the former Dean R&D and current President of Association for Computing Machinery (ACM India) is the current Director.
